Art Classes for Kids and Adults
“My kids LOVED their art classes with Kelly! They were very hands-on, incredibly creative, and the girls still talk about what they learned and how much fun they had. The projects they came home with still stand out as some of their best work and continue to adorn our home more than a year later!”
-Kristin Henderson, Los Alamos
“Thank you Kelly! Joseph LOVED the class and his projects ALL are wonderful! I am so glad that he took this class!”
-Margie Sarrao, Los Alamos
“While vacationing in Santa Fe I attended a two day workshop at the Santa Fe School of Art – what a joy! Kelly is an excellent teacher with much insight in all mediums of art. I only wish I lived here so I could attend on a weekly basis. I plan on coming back to attend a five day workshop in the future.”
- Victoria Fox, Arkansas
I am pleased to announce that after a much needed sabbatical and lots of traveling through Europe, England and Central America, I’m rested, inspired and ready to bring some wonderful art and creativity to Los Alamos once again.
Art classes will begin in November, 2011 for children and adults.
We have morning classes for the home-schoolers and adults, and afternoon classes for the rest of you. The classes will be limited to 10 students so that everyone can get the attention they need.
Ceramics class students will learn the three basic techniques to creating anything with clay – pinch pot, coil and slab. We focus on using these techniques to create animals, 3D and abstract art. Kids get to use their imagination to create whatever inspires them using the given techniques. Students will also learn firing and glazing techniques in more advanced classes.
We keep the classes small (10 students), this way students are not competing with 20 or more other kids and only one teacher. Students get hands on attention starting from the basics and, depending on their initiative, taking it as far as they want to go. Class Calender
“Kelly put together a pottery class that fit my needs, on the days that I requested, and with an instructor that was excellent. In the end, I learned so much about pottery and finished a piece that I never thought I could. Thank you again, Kelly and Jean-Pierre, for an incredible time.”
- Sandra S, Michigan
“Kelly’s classes are wonderful! My two sons, ages 7 & 9, both took Kelly’s ceramics class. They had a great time and made quite a few high quality projects. Kelly’s class was much better than any of the other art classes they have taken in town. I highly recommend her class to anyone.”
-Valerie Merl, Los Alamos
